A note from zzzband creator

My name is Don Linrothe, the owner and co-founder of Departure Products LLC.   My partner and company president, Pamela Gingras and I founded our company on one simple concept; to create products that make travel easier and more comfortable for people on the go.

As a pilot for a major airline for many years, I spend half of my time on the go, in the air; and not always in the cockpit. Years ago I suffered a neck injury due to a skiing accident and spending as many hours as I do in economy seating, sleeping was not an option for me. Nothing on the market worked, including the neck pillows we all frequently see in the airports and on-board planes. I needed something that adequately supported my head and allowed for a pain free and restful sleep . Many passengers struggle today to get comfortable while flying experiencing kinked necks and sleeping on tray tables. I immediately went to work designing a product that actually works to promote sleep and comfort while traveling in economy seating.

The product had to achieve several uncompromising goals. First, a positive direct support of the head eliminating any chance of a kinked neck or head bobs. It needed to incorporate an eye cover that effectively kept light out and had to be comfortable and easy to use. It had to be extremely compact, small enough to fit in your pocket. It needed to be versatile enough to be used in other applications. The biggest challenge was how to accomplish positive head support guaranteeing that the body or head will not slump forward. That solution was found by utilizing the adjustable head rest as the anchor point.  With that ZzzBand was born.

Not only can ZzzBand be used in economy seating on airplanes but also in your car or on a train. With the removable strap ZzzBand can be used at home or in your hotel room while sleeping guarding against rays of light that either wake us up or prevent us from falling asleep. Many of my fellow pilots are using ZzzBand today with great success. I hope ZzzBand can help you get the restful sleep that you deserve while traveling the world.
